We are asking Theaters Against War (THAW) members and friends to nominate potential recipients for the THAW 2008 Scholarship Award. As we did in 2008, THAW plans to grant two awards - one for $1,000 and another for $500 - to an artist or group of artists making theatre in conflict or “post-conflict” areas.  Your nominations may come from anywhere in the world that you feel is in conflict, be it military, racial, economic, etc.  Below you will find full instructions on how to email in your nominations.  Please note that the deadline for nominations is MARCH 1, 2009.    

Last year, THAW's members recognized the courageous work of Al-Harah of Palestine and RAPSIDA of Rwanda; let us renew our collective will to support artists like them. We also asking THAW members and supporters to give $10 each for the award.  All funds go directly to the THAW Scholarship recipients, and we hope to increase the amount of the grants. HOW TO NOMINATE:

To nominate an individual or group, please send an email to thawaction@yahoo.com with the following information (and please write "THAW Scholarship" in the subject line of your email):
